A Reunion of Sorts

There is no such thing as trilogies anymore. Over the last few years we have seen a number of classic franchises returning to make a fourth installment. We saw it with Indian Jones and Die Hard and now we are going to see it with the American Pie Franchise. American Reunion reunites all, and I mean all, of the original cast members from the first film. Everything that made American Pie, American Pie 2 and American Wedding so successful is still front and center in the fourth film.

10 years ago four boys from a small town in Michigan began a quest to lose their virginity. In doing so they created a comedic franchise that we all grew up with.  The new trailer that was released shows that the more things change, the more they stay the same. In American Reunion the gang returns to East Great Falls for their high school reunion. These lifelong friends come home as adults to reminisce, and get inspired by, the hormonal teens who launched a comedy legend. In one long, overdue weekend they will discover what has changed, who hasn’t and that time and distance can’t break the strongest bonds of friendship.

American Reunion is set to release April 6, 2012

There are several players in the NFL that I just do not like.  There are several teams that I do not like. Each week I hope those players and those teams lose. I want the Bears to win, but I want Jay Cutler to throw 3 interceptions each week. It kills me inside when I seem him make great plays to lead his team to victory. I know what it must be like for all those people who do not want Tebow and the Broncos to succeed. So many people wrote off Denver even before the season. So many people wrote off Tebow even before he attempted a pass. Many people are starting to believe in the Broncos, especially the defense, but not everyone believes in Tebow.

The quarterback drops back to pass, its third down with ten yards to go late in the fourth quarter. He moves in the pocket avoiding a rusher, sets his feet and rifles a perfect pass to his receiver cutting over the middle. Just as the receiver catches the ball BAM! The defensive player lays a perfectly timed, monstrous hit on the receiver causing him to drop the ball. Those sitting in the stands and the fans watching at home have two reactions depending which team they are cheering for. It’s either an “Ooohhh” or a “Yeahhhh.” These hits are what both fans and even players live for. What is football without these hard bone crushing hits that make you cringe. But now those hits are followed by a yellow flag and an “Ah come on” from the defending team’s fans. (more…)

I was making my usual rounds on the internet tonight when I saw this time-lapse video from the International Space Station. The crew took pictures as they flew over the earth at night and they picked up some great images.

http://www.48minutesofhell.com/twitter-is-alive-with-truthThis may be it for the NBA lockout that started back in July of this year. NBA commissioner David Stern has given the players an ultimatum. The league presented the players’ association with the new offer Thursday after nearly 11 hours of bargaining, hoping it would be enough to end the lockout. This deal will allow for a 72-game season (only missing 10 games) that would start in mid December. But Stern has made it clear that this is the last offer, no more negotiating. “There comes a time when you have to be through negotiating, and we are,” Stern said. (more…)

Grand Theft Auto V was announced by Rockstar Games on October 25th, with the first official trailer being released on November 2nd. Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos (a present day Southern California) and the surrounding hills, countryside, and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created. Not many details have been shared as of yet, but some sources are saying that there will be more than one playable character in the game. No release date has been announced. Only time will tell what fans can expect from this latest installment in the classic franchise.
