When Anberlin announced that they were going to record their third major label release with Aaron Sprinkle, the anticipation of this record couldn’t be overstated. “New Surrender” and “Dark is the Way, Light is a Place” certainly had its share of disappointed fans. Could this be the Anberlin record that brings back the sound that fans have been waiting for since their magnum opus, “Cities”? After several listens it’s safe to say that “Vital” is the album that will remind fans why they fell in love with Anberlin all those years ago. When I was in high school people were listening to all kinds of music. Country music was just as popular as it has ever been, rap seemed to becoming more mainstream, and pop/R&B seemed to be coming together. It has been a busy couple of weeks for the Watchful Penguin clan. Last weekend some of us went to Fort Collins, Colorado to see a band that one of our friends plays guitar in called Take to the Oars. @taketotheoarsCO
They were playing a c.d. release party for a band from Fort Collins called Post Paradise.
