On Tuesday night Peyton rounded up his teammates and took them on a little field trip to the Colorado Rockies vs. New York Yankees game. It’s great to see Peyton bringing all of his teammates together for some team bonding. These are the types of things that make Manning a great leader on and off the field.  But Manning also likes to have a little fun on the side as well. One of the teammates at the game was right tackle Orlando Franklin. This happened to be Franklin’s first professional baseball game so he was the perfect target for one of Manning’s pranks. This time Manning enlisted the help of his wide receiver Eric Decker. While Franklin was doing an interview with a Rockies broadcaster Decker gave him a plateful of shaving cream right to the face. This is something many baseball players do to a player after a walk off win. Now Franklin doesn’t look like the type of guy I would want to prank, but I’m sure Decker was just glad to be on Manning’s side this time. Earlier this offseason Manning brought together Decker, Demaryius Thomas, and Wes Welker to work out with him at Duke University. At the end of the weekend Manning made Decker think he had to pay for his voluntary workout by sending him an invoice that included a facility fee, laundry service fee, and a fee from the athletic training staff. The total bill read $3,217.50. I wonder who Manning is going to prank next.

Check out the bill to Decker and the note to the others:

As I sat watching the sixth game between the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors I couldn’t help but get this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I wanted the Nuggets to win so badly. They were clearly the better team, but they hadn’t played like it all series, even in the games they won.  As I watched them fall behind by 18 points in the fourth quarter I started to get the feeling that this organization will never win an NBA championship. I mean the Nuggets won 57 games this year. They had a 15 game winning streak. They won 23 straight games at home. They were the number 3 seed in the Western Conference. I mean they can’t really do any better than that. Even when we had out superstar Melo the team didn’t have the kind of season they had this year. But they still lost in the first round. As a fan how can you have any hope in the future of this organization? (more…)

This is perhaps the coolest video I have ever seen. Rocky is by far my favorite mascot and this video is great. Check it out here, I promise you won’t regret it:

I thought the Nuggets were supposed to be good this year?  The Denver Nuggets made some big offseason moves this year by trading away Al Harrington and Aaron Afflalo and bringing in Andre Iguodala. They also singed JaVale McGee and Ty Lawson to big time contracts. At the end of last year they gave Wilson Chandler a big contract as well. The Nuggets team was set. Management was happy with the team and felt like the Nuggets could finally compete against the top teams in the west. I myself had some hesitations though. I felt like the Nuggets did not do enough to compete with teams like the Lakers and the Thunder. I knew that the only way Denver becomes a legitimate championship contender would be if their players made significant strides to improve in the offseason. I had my doubts that this would happen. Two weeks ago the Wyoming Cowboys played the Air Force Falcons in a crucial conference matchup. The Cowboys were sitting at 1-4 and in desperate need of a win to keep their bowl hopes alive. Wyoming has had some tough luck this season.  Two of their losses were by no more than 3 points. They have had a number of injuries and their starting quarterback has been banged up and has missed some significant time. Brett Smith is Wyoming’s offense. He is forced to carry the team on his back time and time again as his defense and run game struggle. But, with all of their bad luck Wyoming was still in a position to become bowl eligible. All they needed was one game against a conference opponent to turn their season around. Wyoming started to do just that against Air Force. They took a 27 to 14 lead midway through the third quarter. But the Cowboys struggled down the stretch and ended up losing by 1 point and pretty much ended their hopes at a winning season. (more…)
